Quayside partly open air fish restaurant/kiosk. Fresh local seafood. Scallops were lovely.
Was sceptical to start with and my fears were soon to be tasted! Whist waiting on our 'fresh cooked' meal I noticed the sea food up for grabs was about as fresh as my dogs breath! The scallops were turning yellow and their usually white flesh was cracked and dry looking. The other items didn't seem much better. When we got our 20 fish and chips, what a ridiculous price anyway! The chips were clearly something from the frozen isle of a supermarket and the fish looked like a burnt insole, quite clearly previously cooked and now reheat! For the price of this terrible meal for two, only just around the corner is a lovely first floor restaurant in which they serve a fresh and varied well thought out menu at a reasonably price. We should have gone there. In fact anywhere would have been better than the tripe we were handed! Any way the prize for the most embarrassing waste of time and taste buds goes to MacGillivrays Seafood hut of lies! Tuck in at your sorrow!

Where can We even start, after finding this place by total accident,I have to say I have never experienced anything like it.If seafoods your thing then this is the best place in Oban for seafood, unless your prepared to take a rod or a net with you to the pier it's impossible to get any fresher The pan fried scallops with garlic butter I swear mr Ramsey couldn't get them any better Sweet lobster tails from the west coast of Scotland cooked in a sparkling white wine are just simple to die for.
As fresh as you can get - boat to table. Try the fresh langoustines if you get a chance they are delicious. We got to choose ours and they cooked them up right in front of us. Also enjoyed their fish and chips. Right on the pier so you get to enjoy the sunshine and views. Plenty of seating and plenty of options. A must stop while in Oban.
