Lovely looking bar. Decent beer selection. However, getting a pint served with three fruit flies floating on top, not ideal.
This review is strictly coffee...this place doesnt even show up on Yelp but in 9 days in Scotland, I didnt find better coffee anywhere! The flat white is rich, smells and tastes amazing with the expert hand of a talented barista. I was pleasantly surprised!
Nice selection of drinks, teas and cakes. Very nice view over the harbour and just next to the train station.
We wait 10 minutes at the table and the barkeeper told us twice for ordering to come to the counter. As a guest im expecting to order on the table. This is a Cafe and not a take away bar. She doesnt want to come to us. This cafe thinks that they can treat customers as they want because you have a nice view to the bay. After 30 minutes a young man start his work and he takes orders from the table. The service is horrible and i would not go to this cafe again. I would give 0 stars because of the arrogance from the barkeeper woman who dont want to serve you.
My family come to Oban every couple years and have been waiting for the Perle Hotel cafe (Brew & Co.) to finish being renovated. We were happy to see that it was up and running this year and gladly went inside to shelter from the rain. The decor is tasteful, though a bit generic, but the positive experience ends there.. The music is shocking: awful, tinny, synthesised attempt at jazz with a hefty dose of pipe organ (?!) thrown in to the mix. Very artificial. Best described as 'Elevator-Chic'.The worst offence, however, was the hot chocolate.. We ordered two small milk hot chocolates which were just glorified warm-milk with some sugar. I apologised to the server for being a difficult customer but pointed out that the hot chocolate had no discernible cocoa flavour whatsoever. She graciously made two more but, sadly, they were, if anything, milkier than the first. All-in-all a disappointing experience.
